Last week, Sir Geoffrey chaired a meeting of the West Devon Environmental Forum in Lifton, a local environmental group representing the communities of Milton Abbot, Bradstone and Kelly – which has led an important and long-standing campaign to extend the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
One of the most important outcomes of the meeting was a generous offer from representatives of Tamar National Landscape, who invited parish councils across the area to an open event at the National Landscape Office in Gunnislake. This event will give parishes an opportunity to explore in greater detail what it means to live and work within an AONB and to consider the opportunities and responsibilities that such a designation would bring.
