During the fortnight of the Wimbledon Championships, Sir Geoffrey visited the Atlantic Racquet Centre again, to meet with staff and volunteers and to see the excellent progress being made on the continuing development of the site.
The centre, which has become a hub for sporting activity across the region, is not only playing a key role in promoting physical activity and wellbeing, but is also helping to bring our communities together through sport. Sir Geoffrey was particularly interested to hear about the rapid rise in popularity of Pickleball and Paddle Tennis—two emerging racquet sports which are attracting significant interest both locally and nationally.
