Last week, Sir Geoffrey spoke to senior officials at the Tamar Valley Natural Landscape, who are responsible for managing the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Tamar Valley. Productive conversations were had, as Sir Geoffrey is keen to see more protections implemented to safeguard our uniquely beautiful countryside from Labour's vision to build onto the greenbelt due to recently passed housing and net zero legislation in Parliament.
Sir Geoffrey said 'I was delighted to meet the AONB Manager, Sarah Gibson, to explore the expansion of the TVNL (the former AONB) to protect our precious local landscapes in and near the Tamar, which are without any protective designation despite being contiguous both to the National Park, the TVNL and the World Heritage Site! I plan to chair a public meeting about this issue later in the summer'
