Last week, Sir Geoffrey met Liam Searle from South Coast Retail and Laura Tarling from the Post Office, in Parliament, to discuss the future of Bideford Post Office.

Sir Geoffrey spoke with them about the upcoming changes to the branch, that will see it move from being a directly managed branch to a franchised operation. The new franchise partner will be South Coast Retail, operated by Liam, who will take over the day-to-day running of the branch from September 2025.

The branch will remain in its current location in the near term, and Sir Geoffrey stressed the need to maintain the full range of services currently available to local residents. Liam, who brings a wealth of experience managing Post Office branches across the South West, expressed a strong commitment to enhancing the services of the branch.
