Sir Geoffrey was delighted to visit the Bideford Amateur Boxing Club this week, where he had the pleasure of meeting many of the dedicated individuals who keep this remarkable institution thriving. He witnessed firsthand the inspiring work of the Parkinson’s Boxing Group as they trained with determination and focus.
This outstanding club has a proud history of producing national and regional champions. Yet its true strength lies not only in its accolades, but in the people who bring it to life—their camaraderie, resilience, and the inclusive spirit they foster within the community. It’s this sense of belonging and purpose that makes the club so exceptional.
And they didn’t let their MP off lightly! Sir Geoffrey even stepped into the ring himself, going a few rounds under the watchful eye of head trainer Dick Kersey MBE!
