Family Farming

Torridge and Tavistock is blessed with some of the most arable land in the whole of the UK. The rolling hills of West Devon has long been host to hardworking families who work the land and provide the food and crops we need. It has always been an honour and a pleasure to represent family farmers who live across the constituency, many of whom I have come to know personally.

With the government exposing itself as failing to understand how farming works as an industry, and pushing ahead with imposing unworkable taxes on operable farming units, it is a priority of the utmost to put emphasis on the unique circumstance family farms operate under and how this must be considered when it comes to policy making. To that end, I have set up this page to draw attention to the work I am undertaking on behalf of our family farms to push back against government overreach and unworkable taxation on those that provide us with much.
