MP Raises Eco Flag at Holsworthy Primary School

Geoffrey Cox last week visited Holsworthy Primary School to raise a flag in celebration of achieving its Green Flag Award for Environmental Education, as part of "Keep Britain Tidy".

Geoffrey Cox, MP for Torridge & West Devon last week visited Holsworthy Primary School to raise a flag in celebration of achieving its Green Flag Award for Environmental Education, as part of "Keep Britain Tidy".

The school has worked hard over the past two years on teaching the children about the importance of the environment and how they can do their bit to protect it. The MP, Mayor of Holsworthy, and other invited guests were shown around the school by children on the school's Eco-Council. They were particularly keen to show the guests pictures of things they had made out of recycled materials, and for them to see the fruit and vegetable garden.

Geoffrey Cox said "I was delighted to be invited to raise the Green Flag; the school has worked extremely hard to achieve this award, which is credit to both children and staff. I hope that other schools may be able to take up the challenge and encourage more of our future generations to be as enthusiastic about protecting our environment as the children at Holsworthy Primary".
